Who We Are
We Have Already Saved 15 Lives.
Every week in Australia, 7 young people under 35 die from sudden cardiac death. One every single day. Most had no warning. No prior diagnosis. No scan. These are not elderly patients at end of life. They are sons, daughters, athletes, workers, parents.
We built The HeartScreen because we refused to accept that. We provide, completely free, the specialist cardiologists, the cardiac sonographers, the diagnostic equipment, the GP coordination, and the clinical reporting. We bring the entire hospital-grade cardiac screening team directly into the community. No cost to the patient. No cost to the GP. Bulk-billed through Medicare.
To date, our team has identified 15 critical cardiac conditions that would have gone undetected. Conditions that, without intervention, could have resulted in sudden cardiac death. Fifteen people are alive today because we showed up.
Preventia is a First Nation owned community diagnostics provider. The HeartScreen is our flagship cardiac pathway, and this gala marks the moment we take it national. Years of hard work, clinical validation, and community trust have brought us here. Now we need Australia behind us.
Source: Paratz et al., "Cardiac arrest in the young", Europace 2022. Study of ≤50 year olds in Victoria found 90 confirmed cardiac SCAs annually in ≤35s. Victoria represents 24.1% of Australia's population. Extrapolating nationally: ~360 sudden cardiac deaths per year in Australians under 35, or 7 per week.

The Problem We Are Solving
Mandala's 2026 report shows the specialist pathway is under pressure: costs are rising, consumers lack price clarity, specialist attendance is falling, and regional communities face the hardest access barriers.
51%
of consumers are stressed by medical costs
44%
were not aware of specialist appointment costs before attending
55%
received medical bills bigger than expected
$270
median visible out-of-pocket cost for in-hospital medical services in FY24
-8%
decline in initial specialist consults from FY19 to FY24, despite GP attendances rising
61%
of rural consumers reported they cannot get timely specialist appointments
Bottom line: this is not a communications problem. It is an access, cost, workforce and pathway-design problem. Preventia is built as an implementation response.

Millions of Australians cannot access specialist cardiac diagnostics. The waiting lists are months long. The costs are prohibitive. Rural and regional communities are forgotten. Aged care residents are sent to emergency departments for tests that could be done at their bedside.
We are changing that. Like Heart of Australia brings specialist clinics to remote towns, we bring the entire cardiac diagnostic team, but we go further. We bear all the costs. The patient pays nothing. The GP pays nothing. The facility pays nothing.
We pay the diagnostic and specialist bills, so Australians don't have to. Because preventative diagnostic screening should be equitable and accessible to all Australians.

Why We Need Your Support
This Is Not Just a Dinner. This Is a Launch.
For years, our small team has worked tirelessly, deploying sonographers into aged care homes, driving equipment to regional clinics, building referral pathways from scratch, and proving that free, specialist-grade cardiac screening can work at scale. We have saved 15 lives. We have screened thousands. And we have done it without charging a single patient, a single GP, or a single facility.
We bear every cost. The specialist cardiologists, the cardiac sonographers, the hospital-grade diagnostic equipment, the GP coordination, the clinical reporting. We bulk-bill through Medicare and absorb the rest ourselves. That is our model. That is our commitment. But to take this national, we cannot do it alone.
On 17 October 2026, in the Princeton Room at Bond University, we gather 200 to 250 of Australia's most influential leaders for a formal black-tie gala to officially launch The HeartScreen nationally. A 3-course plated dinner à la carte with drinks, a survivor testimonial, government addresses, and a live fundraising drive, all in service of one goal. Ensuring no Australian dies from a preventable cardiac condition.
Your support funds the equipment, the workforce, and the logistics to reach the communities that need us most. Aged care residents who cannot get to hospital, regional towns with no specialist access, and young Australians who have never been screened. Every table purchased, every sponsorship secured, every hand raised in that room saves lives.
